As you know I am a life coach and trainer in the field of N.L.P. and E.F.T.
Since I am into this profession I do come across many people, who come to me complaining that their son, daughter, etc is not performing like other children, or they are not confident and many such things. At this time I just understand one small N.L.P. presupposition, “Map is not the Territory”, is what I need to guide to the person who is facing issues.
Here I remember a story of a cub.
The pregnant lion died soon after giving birth to her young cub. The newborn cub did not know what to do. He came across the flock of sheep; the cub began to move around it. Seeing that little cub, the sheep decided to raise it as their own.
Over a time, he grew up with a small herd of sheep and began to think and act like a sheep. He ate grass like sheep.
At moments the some sheep used to tease him that he looked so different. Some of them will say, "You're ugly. Your voice is very strange. He used to get disappointed with the family of the sheep. "
The little lion was upset that he didn't look like them and was missing something. The lion was annoyed of coming to the flock of sheep, and one day he felt very much disappointed and guilty of himself for no reason.
And a day came when; another lion saw a flock of sheep and decided to attack it. He saw the young lion running away with the other sheep.
The old lion became curious and decided to pursue the young lion. Before the young lion could run away he jump and then asks, "Why are you running away from me like the sheep?"
The young lion, which had never seen a lion, trembled and said, "Please do not eat me. I'm just a young sheep, please let me go...!! "
On hearing this, the big lion shouts, "What?? You're not a sheep. You're a lion like me ..."
The young lion just kept saying, "I'm a sheep. Please let me go ..."
At this stage the idea of an old lion comes through. He pulls the young lion to a nearby river and asks to see his reflection. The young one saw his reflection and then looking at the big lion, the young lion realizes who he really was.
The young lion learns that she is not a sheep but a lion. The young lion was so happy that he made a loud roar.
Moral: Because of the limitations we have inherited around us, we are often unaware of our potential.
Let all your awareness shed light on your limiting beliefs and discover who you really are.
